The CLP-610ND Color Laser Printer from Samsung is a network color laser printer capable of producing up to 21 pages per minute in color or black & white. The time for the first page out of the printer is less than 20 seconds and it can produce 100 pages in less than 5 minutes. It offers a monthly duty cycle of 65,000 pages and also features built-in automatic duplexing. This unit has an effective output of 2400 x 600 dpi. It features 128MB of memory that can optionally be expanded up to 384MB.

"After a quick market review of the competition, I choose the Samsung CLP-610ND. I bought this as a replacement for a 7 year old color laser and will use this as back up for my 2 brother monochrome units. It's fast, printing in color and monochrome as promised. It's quiet. Auto duplex is unheard of at this price. Driver is excellent with lots of options. Networking is easy and it seems easy to maintain. The color output is only average (but good enough for our brochures) and black text is ok for every day docs but not as dark as my other monochrome Brother lasers. Black text is crisp though. Cost to print will be low if using the hi cap. 5000 toners (if we can find them) Too bad Samsung ships with the 2000 toners. Paper handleing is excellent with a multipurpose tray that pulls out from the front which nicely handles legal size, heavy stock or envelopes. Samsung has option for another tray below that can be chained or used for different type or size of paper. Cannot comment on long term but so far so good. "

"Samsung CLP-610ND Color Laser Printer's print quality was also generally good. The 610ND has a 600x600 native resolution and 2,400x600 interpolated resolution. With our test grid, printed text was legible all the way down to 3 points (below that, you'll probably need a magnifying glass anyway). Text was consistent and well-formed. Colors were generally accurate, though somewhat oversaturated. Photos reproduced surprisingly well on plain paper, albeit with some dithering in areas with extremes in contrast.
In short, if you're thinking about retiring your aging monochrome laser printer for a new color laser, the CLP-610ND is well worth considering. It offers better-than-average print quality and performance for the money."

"My review for Samsung CLP-610ND Color Laser Printer
Pros: Low price, networked, duplex printing, lower toner costs, and the toner cartridges include the imaging drum (keeps image quality high) and waste tank (less parts that need changing).

Cons: Photos have noticeable dithering, by default there is too much yellow in the images (I changed Yellow-Blue from 50 to 95 under Color Adjust) and the color quality is lower than other color printers I have seen.

Other Thoughts: The image transfer belt lasts 50,000 pages and costs ~$200 to replace. I don't think we will print that many pages over the life of the printer (5 years expected). Included toner cartridges are the low yield version (2000 pages at 5% coverage). "

What's great about it: I have purchased two printers from HP in the past two years and this printer is cheaper and quieter than any of them.
What's not so great: Heavy and size.

"The installation was easy as well as the setup. I do not know the long term durability of the printer but in all areas it seems to work as good or better than expected. I use it on a home network and it installed flawlessly. From past experience it is best to set it up as a static IP if you are using it as a networked printer." "
