"Strengths: Amazingly good color for the price!

Weaknesses: This printer may be too slow for some but it is easily fast enough for my purposes - occasional home office work.

Overall Evaluation: I particularly like the fact that it is easy to access to paper feed areas in case of a paper jam (although it has, so far worked free of such frustrating jams.) For the best color results it is worth experimenting with the different settings for color themes (found after clicking the Properties button and then going to the color tab and selecting the manual settings ) in order to find the best color quality for your particular needs as each ?theme? produces a slightly different variation of colors. All in all, this is an amazing value for the price!"

"Unlike most color lasers, the CP1215's setup is relatively simple and contains a mere five steps if you include inserting paper into the lone 150-sheet paper tray. HP ships the unit with pre-installed, “introductory” toner cartridges that offer roughly half the yield of the unit's standard cartridges. The starter tanks are good for 750 pages of both color and black prints, but the standard color cartridges ($64) are good for 1,400 pages, while the black cartridge ($70) can crank out 2,300 pages.

The CP1215 has a fixed resolution of 600x600 for both grayscale and color, though HP's ImageREt (Image Resolution Enhancement Technology) interpolates that up to 2,400x600. ImageREt is always on unless you check a box labeled "print all text as black," which means there is no option for best quality or draft. In our tests, text was very sharp and easily legible all the way down to the smallest font sizes. Color accuracy was just decent, however, and we noticed that colors were generally a bit dark regardless of whether we were printing a simple graph or a photo of a butterfly."

"I couldn't ask for a better printer. It's fast and the color is beautiful. My friends are coming over asking me to print out items for them and that's OK because the print toners last so long. Imagine not having to buy toner for 6 months or longer.
It is big and heavy so it's not portable in that sense, but once it's set up you have a professional print shop in your home.

"HP have done it again as they have done with previous laserjet models such as the 1600 2600 etc. Yes given the choice back to the customer unlike some others such as Samsung. Owners of this machine have a choice. Although there are chips built into the cartridges when the printer tells you the toner is out, this can be overidden in the HP toolbox and another 400 to 500 pages can be printed. Also, HP respect their customers choice and made this machine a perfect candidate for refilling. It is a great laser printer and the toner has a beautiful shiny finish making photographs look the business and other documents look like they have been professionally printed. As for refilling, Save a load of money on new cartridges. HP seem to have heard the Enviromental message and have given their customers the choice HP Laserjet CP1215 CP1518 CM1312 CM1312nfi CP1215 CP1514n CP1515n CP1518ni CP1217 Full Toner Refill Kit with instructions and LJ cartridge chips."

"I bought this printer for two reasons 1) The trial print cartridges 2) Mac Os Capability After I bought this I discovered that it is actually not supported for mac os. This was slightly upsettin, but I have a pc so I just have to transfer it over. The print quality is AMAZING for a printer this cheap. Not lines or blemishes. Very Professional. I'm not looking forward to the time that I have to buy cartridges - $300"
